On January 17, 2025 (London time), the Times Higher Education published its World University Rankings 2025 by subject, with ICU ranking 1251st in the Engineering category, marking the seventh consecutive year since the World University Rankings 2019 by subject.

The World University Rankings by Academic Field evaluates and ranks universities around the world by academic field. The evaluation criteria are determined based on a variety of indicators, including Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook, and our university was highly evaluated in the "International Outlook" indicator.

In the field of "Engineering," 80 universities in Japan were ranked, with only two universities from Hokkaido making the list: our university and Hokkaido University. Starting this academic year, our university has adopted a new catchphrase, "Creating future value through a true spirit of inquiry," and will use the achievements of over 40,000 alumni to advance educational reforms and strive to cultivate science and engineering students who can contribute to the local community and the world.
